Oh my- I am with Bess on the "Better off" line - sets my teeth on edge!

Other ones that made me crazy:
"Well now you can move on with life, and hopefully next year will be  
better" - as if we just had a "rough year" - and this from my  
brother, no less.
"At least you have Drew now" from more people than I can count, as if  
having my daughter 6 weeks after Ryan died made it all ok...

On the other hand, the most comforting thing anyone ever said to me  
is "Your son will always be a part of my life" from his hospice RN.
