>>I try very hard to not tell her what to do. She chose to stay home for 2 or
the 3 months that she had planned. Many of our relatives (my brothers and
sisters in law) thought she could and should have gone right back to work -
to keep her mind off of things. I never relayed those messages. They also
think that she should get pregnant again - right away - also to get her mind
off of things. I don't relay that either, but they do. And since my
son-in-law is really struggling with grief now after a year and a half, he
is not ready to have another child. So telling Cheryl to get pregnant isn't
helpful. <<<
Sheila,
Are you sure that you are not my mother???? Your phylosophy and hers are
identical. I am so lucky to have my mom (& dad). I only pray that I can do
that well with my kids. They never butt in and are always there to listen and
support us whether they agree or not. I'm sure that they have sheilded me from
many of the comments made by others also. I've often felt guilty when I hear
the problems that many parents and kids have - I don't know why I was so
blessed. I think that you are doing a wonderful job for Cheryl and Denny, I
hope she realizes it and I'm glad that you are here to give us all the
"grandma's" point of view.
lotsoflove
