You know I thought about this, and this might be one of those things that
everyone would feel differently about. I personally wish someone would have
acknowledge Jessica's due date - especially since it is the same as my
brother and niece's birthday. It was only two weeks after Jessica's
birthday but nobody acknowledged it that first year(or anytime since) and
that was just one of the firsts of the painful dates to come. I guess I
look at it as if they remember any day - it's a tribute to her. I'm sure
your friend meant well, sometimes unfortunately that's more painful than if
they hadn't done anything at all - once again, people just don't know if
they haven't walked our shoes.

My sister slipped not too long ago and referred to her as "Jess" - then she
apologized profusely. She thought we would be upset because she abbreviated
her name (I actually call her Jess myself)- she said that, that is what she
calls her everytime she talks to her or prays for her. You can't believe
how wonderful that made me feel - but she always acted funny when I talked
about her so I quit - COMMUNICATION - such a wonderful concept!LOL
