Firstly I am so sorry that I missed Leslie's special day.I truly didn't put
two and two together and realise that it was your angel who was mentioned on
last weeks list.
You say that you feel you should forget it but you shouldn't....Leslie is as
much a part of your life as any of your friend's/family's living children
are a part of their lives. It may well make you a little unpopular and may
well make them feel uneasy but my advice would be to try being up-front
about how their "forgetting" makes you feel. On the other side of the coin
though it could be that what you may interpret as a lack of feeling on their
part may actually be a misguided attempt to spare your feelings. Some people
operate on the assumption that talking about our angels will cause
additional pain. Don't go in with both guns blazing just in tread carefully
but firmly so they know how you feel.
Looking at some support sites recently I was made aware of what I think is
an excellent idea and it was simply this .
>>On days that are particularly difficult such as due dates, birthdays and
anniversaries you could wear a small black ribbon or a pink or blue one.
This may trigger the memory of those around you to be extra gentle with you
on those days. <<

None of my family acknowledged Gareth's angel day this time and I know that
we cannot force people to remember but I know how you must be hurting and I
am so sorry that you feel the pain you do
