Hi Darlene,
I normally don't say much on Wings - but I have to welcome my dearest friend
(even if she disappeared on me for a while :-))

After Tracey I think Darlene was the first tri-mum I ever met. Certainly
Taryn was the first tri-er I got to hold and cuddle (after Alex).

Taryn was the most beautiful baby - if you see the name Taryn at various
places on my web site you will now know who he is. Both Taryn and Darlene
made a huge and profound impact on me.

Darlene, I am amazed at how well you stood up, especially given all the
clutzes like me around who just didn't have a clue about what to say or do.
I know when you called to tell me about Taryn I literally fell apart. It was
so unexpected.

I was just an outsider - but the cruelest person at the time, to me anyway,
was the funeral director. The bravest person was you Darlene - asking Alex
to be there at Taryn's funeral goes down in my book as gutsy. Even Alex
remembers, in his own way, to this day Alex still buys balloons to send to
Taryn........

Now that we are back in touch are you up to lunch sweet?? Perhaps Margaret
(Mum to Mattie, T-13 mosaic, also a Wings lurker and who lives not far from
you now) could join us?? And don't hate the computer too much :-)) (Darlene
is new to computers and having a love hate relationship with it)

The roots of true achievement lie in the will to become the best that you
can become.
