   Pat,
my little boy's name is Tyler Joel.  He is up there with Catherine, I know
this.
I would never tell your daughter that you are worried.  Perhaps you can ask
your daughter to go and do something when she is ready to go out.  Take her
out to eat or something small like that.  I had to start small. I didnt want
to be in public very much at first.  But I started with a dinner out.  And
then I have grown from there. I now can be in public just like normal.
Sometimes I do get tired very easily.
Also, exercise is good.  Perhaps offer to take a walk with her.  My mother
has offered this to me.  It has been comforting to me to know that my mom
will go out of her way like this for me.  She really will do anything.
YOu cannot stop the depression from setting it.  If it happens it happens.
The best thing you can do if it does set in is be there. Try and encourage
your daughter just to do normal things like get up, shower, eat ect..  Any
way you can encourage that is good.  I have found  professional counseling
has been a blessing for us.  I go to counseling alone, my boyfriend goes
alone, and then we also go together once a month.
