Hi Pat,
You just don't know how much your letter sounds like it was written
by me. As you can probably tell, I'm writing this at 3:45 in the
morning. It seems to be the time when I get the consolidated list,
and I always want to read it right away. I have started a personal
message to you, but I'm going with my husband tomorrow as a chaperone
on a senior band student bus trip to see "West Side Story" near
Minneapolis. We won't be home until Thursday, so I know my other
message won't get done until then either. I'm sorry about taking so
long, but I want to write the right thing. And at this hour and with
the upcoming trip, I know I need the sleep.
You sound like you have very good instincts. And you must live
pretty close to your daughter. I'd say that is a huge bonus. I'm 5
1/2 hours away - not stopping (which I cannot do), so it is a big
deal to go see the kids. Cheryl and her little 19 month old will be
coming to the cities for her cousin's wedding this weekend. I can
hardly wait.
Your sister-in- law is right. Just wait until the depression sets
in. I'm sure most of the moms on the list will agree. It is normal,
but very scary for everyone - especially grandmothers who are far away.
I promise, I'll write as soon as I come home. We can keep in touch.
