((((((((((( Monica))))))))))))

I'm so sorry that your dad said those things to you. I know that I heard
people saying that to each other - but out of earshot of Cheryl and Denny -
when Hope was born. I felt devastated to know that relatives could say such
things.

Just another story: Dick's cousin came to visit last Saturday. We had a
nice visit catching up on their family. Then her husband started talking
about his daughter's new granddaughter. The child was born out of wedlock.
The mom wants nothing to do with the dad. The grandfather and his wife have
kicked the mom (his daughter) out of their house. And she has moved back
in with her mom (the grandmother). Confused yet? Well, the
great-grandfather sitting in my living room said that this child should have
been aborted at one month gestation and then there would be nothing to worry
about. He wasn't claiming this child as any relationship to him - period.
I felt so sad. And I'm sure that his wife was totally embarrassed. This
little girl is about 6 months old, very cute, and very smart. Why would a
great-grandfather not want her in his life???? I just couldn't believe it.
This little girl had nothing to do with how she came into the world. Why is
he taking it out on her???? There is no telling what people will say.
