I don't post much anymore since my life is way crazy with two children,
hubby, dog and a very busy job; however, this subject is one that I feel
very passionate about. =20

You wouldn't believe the craziness in the US with this whole situation.
We delivered our daughter at 17 weeks, she was stillborn.  I got
NOTHING...no birth certificate, no death certificate, no stillborn
certificate.  I couldn't name her officially, I couldn't take her body
and donate it to science, I couldn't bury her, NOTHING. =20

As I am sure you can remember, that whole time is just so completely
awful and black because of your loss - the loss of your precious,
wonderful child, the loss of your dreams/plans, the loss of innocence.
Now add the fact that no one in this country recognizes your child as
just that...a child...and I tell you what, it is MADDENING!  Obviously
the people that have made the choice that you are a human being only if
you reach 24 weeks have never lost a child. =20

It has been 3 1/2 years since we lost Grace, and this sort of thing
still chaps my rear end! =20

PS  I guess I really shouldn't say we got nothing.  We did get a lovely
memory box that had such beautiful little items in it, a book on sorrow,
plus a card with our daughter's hand and foot prints (also a little
stone with her hand imprint). =20

Wow, I didn't know about that issue.  Here in the UK you get a special=20
certificate called a certificate of stillbirth or something.  (As long

the child was over 24 weeks gestation).  I always thought it was sad for

people whose babies were younger than that, as the loss is no less
painful. =20
This certificate is like a birth and death certificate
