[tri-wings] Lurking

Hi, my name is Stacey. I'm also a mom to an angel. My daughter Leslie Serina
was born with Trisomy 9 on November 20, 1996. I was only 5 1/2 months pregnant
when she was born. She weighed 10 1/2 ounces and was 9 1/2 inches long. They (
the docs) realized there was a problem during my first ultrasound. Her heart
rate was too low and they found a large hole on the side of her skull, From
there they decided to do an amnio and she was born less than a month later. Her
father, who I am now divorced from agreed with the drs. that I should be
induced due to the risks to me if Leslie got much bigger (they had a fear that
due to some of her joints being dislodged that she would become entangled in
the birth canal (or something) and that delivery would be a serious threat to
my life. I was such a mess emotionally that I agreed to the induction, but that
is not what ended up happening. A day or two before my appointment I felt
different, I wasn't feeling her move anymore. I called and the drs told me just
to wait and see. I went in on Nov. 19th for the induction and when they did the
ultra sound they found that Leslie had already gained her wings. They went
ahead with he induction and she was born at 3:30 am on the 20th her Grandpa's
birthday.
thank you for letting me share my story.
