[tri-wings] Re: Kay from Jim

Kay,
We had a similar problem right before Jessica's funeral. When they put the
obit in the paper, they forgot to put Mandy and Katie as Jessie's siblings. I
WAS FURIOUS. Part of it may have been my frame of mind at the time, granted.
The bad thing was that most people around us, families included, couldn't
understand what I was so upset about. When I called the paper, they said that
they would fix it the next day. They did, but then they spelled the names
wrong even though they had received an e-mail from me showing the proper
spelling. Then a friend of my parents sent me a copy of the obit that he had
copied and changed everything correctly. I know that it wasn't the same but
it was an extremely nice thought and it really did help.
Another thing that irked me here is the price of the obituary. When my
grandfather died a couple of years ago, there was no charge for it in
Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where he lived. And the paper let us write a very
lengthy one also. But here they charged over a hundred dollars for a very
small one. And they said that there were no refunds whatsoever. How nice of
them, NOT.
