[tri-wings] Re: Justice for Jessica - Stacey

Stacey,

I'm so glad your family can get some closure on all of this. When I was
in High School a friend - Shelly Sykes - was killed, and her body never
found. The guys in her case (one of them at least) said that they took
her, but he was too high to remember what they did with her. They
basically had run her off the road and abducted her while she was on her
way home from work. The police have always suspected that they buried
her on property of one of the guy's parents, but they haven't been able
to prove it (to prove it would be to tear up his parents house and dig
under the slab that was poured around the time she went missing - which
if they are wrong and don't find her - they would be liable for these
people's house). This was I believe in 1986 and it sometimes feels like
yesterday. They only were able to prove kidnapping charges against
these guys. At least it sounds like Christopher Edwards will pay for
this for a long, long time. =20

On a brighter note, I would love to see a recent picture of Vada.

Subject: [tri-wings] Justice for Jessica

I just wanted to send an update on the case of my cousin Jessica who was
murdered last year. Friday was the sentencing hearing of Christopher
Edwards, the 19 year old that killed her with a sword and disposed of
her body which has never been found.
The judge handed down a sentence of 100 years to life in prison. He got
80 to life for second degree murder and no less than 20 years for the
use of a weapon to commit a felony. Those sentences are to be served
consecutively. The earliest he can come up for parole is in 50 years. He
will be 70 years old before he can even apply for parole.
The family has now closed another chapter of this nightmare, but our
search for Jessica continues. He stood silent in the courtroom. The
judge asked him if he had anything to say and he said..."I respectfully
decline to comment" So he still will not tell us where she is and he
probably never will. Thank you to all of you who kept my family in your
thoughts and prayers this last year. Now we can move on with a new kind
of normal.
On a Vada note, if anyone would like to see new pictures of Vada, let me
know. You can email me off list or send your email address through the
list. eeyore1996@xxxxxxx
