well all this talk about sending kids away reminded me that Jen came home early
from her sailing adventure. She was meant to sail into Sydney Harbour next
Monday April 2nd but on Tuesday night we got a phone call from the ship's
captain to say that Jenny was not complying with requests and that she was
being rude to the crew and the others on board and that she would be put off
the ship in Sydney on Wednesday. Needless to say we were quite disappointed
and I was distraught thinking that it was a very negative thing to happen.
Anyway David got a phone call on Wednesday morning about 10am from her saying
"I don't know what to do and I have no money!" (keep in mind that Sydney is 3.5
hours drive away from us) Both David and I were working and couldn't go to pick
her up (I have next week off and we were all going down on Monday to watch her
come in) anyway I knew that there is a coach company that comes straight from
Central Station in Sydney to the roundabout down the road so Jen had a loong
walk ahead of her from Garden Island dock to Central no money for food and a
long wait for the bus. She got home about 4:30pm yesterday afternoon and told
us that the last few days of the voyage the weather had deteriorated and she
was seasick and homesick and did not feel like doing anything. She spoke quite
positively about the others on board and most of the crew (she had a bit of a
personality clash with the sailing master) and did enjoy herself for most of
the time. So not entirely the negative experience that I had imagined and was
so distraught about.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end tomorrow it's already tomorrow in
Australia
