[tri-wings] I know life's unfair, but this unfair?

A gripe. Last night my partner, Simon, spoke to his mum who's been treated
for cancer for the last two years. When he came off the phone, tears in his
eyes he just said, 'there's nothing more they can do. My mum is going to
die'. Don't know the details yet, Simon's going to speak to his mum again
today and get more info. So, he's lost two babies over the past year and a
half and now is going to lose his mum. She was a single parent in those days
when it was still considered taboo. He loves her so much, he always says,
'it's me and mum against the world', but he says it in a positive way. His
mum, Louvain, is married to David whose first wife died of cancer too. Once
again I just want to howl at the moon, Snoopy-like, and shout, 'why, why
her, why him, why David. It's NOT FAIR'.

Thanks tri-wings folk for being there....
