Hi Esmirna,

I am so sorry that you had to be introduced to the term Trisomy 18.
Most all of us had not heard of the term until the day our world came
crashing down around us.  Looking for support is the best thing you
can do to make informed decisions.  The more knowledge that you can
get from people that have walked the walk the less regrets you will
have.  You already know the statistics, but that doesn't mean that
your little blessing can't be one of the 10% that survive the first
year.  Fawna has already introduced you to the Tri-Med site.  That
list is more in tuned for preparing for the birth of Amanda, although
you are certainly welcome here.  When I received my DX in January
2002, I joined the Tri-Family and Tri-Med lists.  They were my mental
salvation while I endured the final phases of my pregnancy.  This list
was a life saver after we lost Jessica.  You will see some of the same
names on the other lists.  Everyone is welcome on all three.

Our prayers are with you and if you need anything just shout and
someone will hopefully help you.  We've all been through what you are
going through, sometimes that  is very comforting to know.  God bless
you and keep us posted.
