Just always do what feels right to you, no matter what anyone else thinks.
We've always hung Erin's Christmas stocking--I couldn't imagine not doing
it.  On Christmas morning there is something in Erin's stocking that is a
gift from her to Ashlyn.  I just ordered something for this year:  a
necklace with a gold "teardrop" with Erin's birthstone on it.  There is also
a poem with it.
Take extra care of yourself--the holidays are always hard.
