Sharon and Peter, congratulations !!!!!!!!
The first signs we had that anything was wrong were clearly seen on the 12
week dating scan.Gareth had a large exomphalos (sp?) and they detected
shorter than normal arms.The exomphalos contained liver and intestines and
they did say was operable and had a good success rate(so not necessarily a
t18 marker I guess????).The short arms gave them most concern and that was
the biggest reason for me being sent to Birmingham Women's for a second
opinion.There were really no other outward signs that anything as wrong and
when I delivered him the only signs were the exomphalos and his little hands
turned inward as the radial bone was missing.
