[tri-wings] Re: Hello

Tiffany,

Welcome and so sorry you had to find us. You will find great support
here. This group has helped me tremendously over the past 8 months. I
lost my daughter Grace in August. She had full T-13. Truly the darkest
time in my life. This group was such a help when I thought I may just
go completely crazy. You will find some awesome listeners here!

Again, welcome and so sorry about your recent loss. =20

Hugs,

Brenda - wife to Rich, mommy to Matthew Alexander(2), Grace Alexandra
(^i^ 8/31/03 full T-13) and Nicholas Andrew (EDD 8/25/04)

Subject: [tri-wings] Hello

Hello Everyone!
=20
I am new to the List Serv and wanted to introduce myself to everyone.
I've
enjoyed watching the support you have given each other through postings
and
would love to strike up new friendships with people who have been
through
the Trisomy roller coaster.

My name is Tiffany Killcreas and my husband Chad and I live in Opelika,
Alabama. We learned we were expecting our first child last May while
on
job assignment in Sydney, Australia. We had been trying for over a
year, so
we were extremely excited! When we went in for the ultrasound to find
out
the sex at 19 weeks, they discovered several anomalies suggesting a
chromosome disorder. After some testing we found out we were having a
little girl (Ashley Grace) and that she had something called
Isodicentric 9
or Tetrasomy 9. This is a Trisomy 9 with an extra copy of genetic
material...there have only been 30 cases ever reported. Our hearts were
broken, but we pressed on. Of course, we were told that she probably
would
not make it through the pregnancy or delivery and if she did we may only
have her for an hour or so. Well, she showed all of the Dr's. She
stayed
with us at home for 68 glorious days and we were able to make memories
that
we will treasure for a lifetime.

Ashley has only been gone for 3 and a half weeks and it seems like a
lifetime. I miss her so much! I know the pain will not be as sharp
over
some time, but right now it seems to get worse every day. I know you
can
all relate to how I am feeling. It is good to know there is somewhere I
can
go to speak to people who understand.
=20
Love,
