[tri-wings] Gena?

Excuse my terribly busy parent brain . . . .

A while ago there was a post about being chosen for a baby who had some
screening tests and a history of parental alcohol use.

I wanted to give a little more feedback.

My littlest monster has the diagnosis of Foetal Alcohol Spectrum. He's very
delayed, bless him. But today he had a big assessment at a Child Development
Centre. And he responded beautifully. He even managed to furtniture walk!
Which knocked all our socks off. He's just 21 months, so although that's late,
its earlier than my middle bubble Matthew. After lots of tests and other
things, they've almost decided that a lot of the delay is down to poor
stimulation, rather than an actual permanent cognitive issue. He's just comin
on so fast. He's gone from not moving at all to belly walking, crawling and
furniture walking in six weeks!

Every child is different. But sometimes all a child needs is a little love.
Children with FAS can have really serious difficulties. But you must bear in
mind most of the research done is on children who remained with their families,
so there were issues of nurture as well of issues of nature involved.

I hope you're getting somewhere with all the tests and things. Demi
