Dear Bess,
Please give Gemma's parents my congratulations on the birth of their
beautiful daughter. And also tell them how sorry I am that she could
not stay with them. I know it sounds strange to say, but I'm so glad
that they had that hour. Time to hold her and feel her in their arms
is so precious. I'm sure that she will be with them always and in
many ways. And you were blessed to be a blessing. I'm sure you will
play a big part in their healing.

My prayers will be with you and with Gemma's family in the coming
weeks. I would love to hear more of her story and meet her parents
when they are up to it.
