[tri-wings] Re: FAS - Any Advice

Hi Demi,

Being an adoptive parent of six kids, five of whom have now or, in Sky's
case, had carried a diagnosis of FAS, the only thin I would warn you of is to
be
cautious of those who warn you to stear clear of kids who carry a diagnosis.
The effects that FAS can have on a child are as broad as the impact that a
Trisomy diagnosis can carry. Make your decisions based on what you know about
this child's history, their behavior, their ability to bond, and what you
know to be right for you and your family. A child with FAS can be just as
successful as any other. Children with Reactive Attachment Disorder are, for
me,
the most tragic, and seemingly the most difficult to reach.
Good luck in your decision making process.
