Deanna,
Yep, I've been there, done that. Last spring I had about 10 PT sessions on
my knees. Even with 80/20 coverage for insurance, I still had a bill of
over $700. And yes, it helped. But I can't afford that kind of bill.
I have arthritis in my spine (and just about everywhere else) and I've had
back surgery. So my options vary with my mood. I had been going for
Chiropractic help. But it just seemed to go on forever---. So in November
when my principal called my husband to come to get me at school at 8:30 in
the morning, I was taken to the MD who referred me to my orthopedic
specialist. I now have several options: have surgery on my back, have
surgery on both knees, have surgery on my shoulder, do lots of exercises to
keep limber (and this helps), get injections periodically (and they do
help), NEVER lift anything over 8 pounds again and that is stretching my
limits, and it seems I could go on and on.
Right now, I'm choosing to try not to lift anything - including my purse
which is way too heavy - and to do the exercises. But something really
jummped out at me on Sunday and hasn't gotten any better. So, I'm thinking
that I need another injection. I stayed home today to rest my back. And I
wasn't even going to the computer. But . . . I have to get my taxes done
(one of my stressors).
And our teachers' attorney called last night to tell me that the case I've
been working on for some of our teachers (I'm the Members' Rights
Representative for our union.) was won by the school district. I just
cannot figure out how the arbitrator whose decision is final could have read
our contract the way she did. I'm sure this is one of my stressors also.
And I have to call the teachers involved and give them the bad news.
Well, this is too long on non-Wings stuff. Thanks for letting me vent.
