Hi Corinne,
I would suggest a long distance consultation with a specialist. I will email
you privately his name and contact information. He can review all the
ultrasounds and records and make a second opinion and talk to her from his
state. No need to deal with the front desk. There may or may not be a charge
for this.
Bess

Subject: [tri-wings] Colorado, USA- Doctor Assistance?
Hello everyone,
I just signed on to the tri-med list, but in the mean time I would like to
ask you all if anyone from the eastern slope of Colorado can help me find a
doctor who would be helpful to a woman who has been in contact with me.
Her baby was diagnosed by her OB with several abnormalities that were deemed
incompatible with life. There is a heart chamber missing, and the baby's
head is smaller than it should be, among other serious things. They told
her to be ready for imminent stillbirth. This was several months ago, and
she is still pregnant. She is unable to find a doctor who will consult with
her, because she has awful insurance that limits her to a single group
practice (I know, its insane!) So, I am going to begin making phone calls
for her tomorrow to see if I can find a doc who will give her a second
opinion, and some advice. She is at the point where her ability to
communicate with a doctor's front desk is just not possible because they
don't take her insurance, before she gets to her question. She is angry and
frustrated. I am hoping that a 3rd party calling on her behalf might be
able to find someone who will at least return her calls.
If anyone on this list was in Colorado USA at the time of their baby's birth
and can help me locate a good OB or Peri who might be helpful. please let me
know.
Thank you so much - I will ask the same thing on the tri-med list.
Best,
Corinne
