Hi Candy,
I remember that first Christmas after we lost Sophie as being one of my worst
times. Like you, I racked my brains to think of a super special way to honour
my baby angel girl.
After a lot of thought I decided to name a star after her. I applied to the
International Star Registry and chose a star from Andromeda, which means
princess. Sophie's star is Andromeda RA 0h 12m 21s D 25' 11'. Some stars are
more clearly visible at certain times of the year - Sophie's should be visible
throughout May - her birth month.
I am no astronomer but I love the thought that Sophie has a star named after
her. Her name is permanently filed in the Registry's vault in Switzerland and
recorded in a book which is registered in the copyright office of the United
States of America. I have a lovely certificate which I've had framed and has
pride of place on my living room wall.
I also bought a small frame and put Sophie's picture in it and hung it at the
top of our Christmas tree - a real angel at the top.
With love,
Sharon
