Hi all,
As I have been reading on some of the sites and family stories regarding
trisomy, I have been wondering if I need to consider any genetic
implications for my living children? One of my children is approaching an
age where he could potentially father children. I have never really
discussed with him what happened to Nadia, he just knows she was not healthy
at birth and died. I have read some people speak of being "carriers", but
know little about this area. I am planning to go back and see the genetic
counsellors, we saw them shortly after Nadia's death, but basically it was
all a blur to me. My husband recalls the details and he doesn't think they
indicated that any of our children would be "carriers", but that was 17
years ago. Maybe there is new information, maybe we weren't told everything?
Anyway, I would like to do some personal research before I go to see the
counsellors and was hoping you might be able to point me to some websites
with good information in this area.
Thanks,
Maryanne
