[tri-wings] Re: Caleb's Story

Mary,

I just wanted to let you know that Caleb's story was so sad and so
beautiful. It sounds like he was happy in his little world surrounded
by familiar sounds and his mothers love and left you knowing how much he
was loved and wanted.

I lost a baby girl to trisomy 18 in July 2006. At 18 weeks, we tested
high risk for spina bifida but a sonogram showed what we thought was a
healthy baby. During a repeat sonogram at 22 weeks, the doctor found
that she had multicystic kidney syndrome, swelling in the right
ventricle of her heart, a single umbilical artery and was almost 3 weeks
smaller than what was expected for dates. Four weeks later, during
another sonogram to measure growth restriction, we saw that her heart
had stopped. She was our first baby and I still miss her terribly. We
recently had a baby boy, Conor, and my feelings are mixed. He makes me
so happy, but it makes me sad that he'll never know his big sister.

Wishing you peace in this sad time, know that I will be thinking of you
during this hard time.

Jean
