[tri-wings] Re: Birthdays and Angel Days

Susan
God gives you peace always and special today.
I really appreciated when you share Rebecca's story with us. That encourage me
to keep going with me little one. By the way I haven't updated you about my
Amanda.
She was born on the 12 of November. Her first week of life was terrible. She
wasn't able to swallow and was choking when was fed. At the hospital gave her
morphine to make her comfortable and were feeding her with a syringe. They
even told us she wouldn't survive the second night because of her condition.
Finally we manage to let us bring her home. While she was at the Hospital she
was just drinking 3-5 ml of milk to "make her comfortable". After she arrived
home I started to increase and in two days she was drinking 15ml per feeding.
Four days after we started her with a nipple and until now she is being fed
normally with a bottle. I'm breastfeeding her. Even she has a VSD that hasn't
affect her too much and her cardiologist says that she has balanced the two
blood pressure and she is not having problems to breath.
She was born with 6.2 pounds and lost almost a pound on her first week. Last
time we weigh her she was 7.9 (Jan-25).

Today an Occupational therapist from the children hospital came by to check on
her and see what we can do to help her improve. She evaluated her and found
that she is doing great and almost normal to her age.

She is aware of things, pays attention when I talk to her. She follows bright
things with her eyes, listens to noise, sleeps well. We are really happy in
the way she is developing.

I will try to keep you inform as much as I can. I don't know if I am allow to
post a picture of her through this org and how to do it so if anyone will like
to see her just ask me.

Take care everybody and hugs

Esmirna, Mom to Adolfo (17), Eduardo (14) and Amanda (full T-18) 2 month of age.
