[tri-wings] Re: Annalis

I suppose that I should clarify my feelings, or at least put them down so I can
look at them. My "problem" is that I get extremely offended when I hear people
say things like "I hope she gets herself straightened out. . ." meaning that
she should get neutered. Reminds me of the Humane Society. Paula is not a dog
or cat!

Annalis was not a "problem." She is a very precious daughter, sister,
granddaughter, and great granddaughter. Annalis made an impact on all of us
that I wouldn't trade for anything. I'll support Paula and Jess completely in
whatever their decision is, but they absolutely have every right to have more
children. The x mother-in-law even had the gall to ask my wife if Paula was
going to have "her tubes tied" at the hospital while Annalis was struggling for
life. I know I would not have handled it well if I had overheard her.

The doctor told Paula she had a 99%+ chance of having perfectly healthy babies.
Even if was 50%, I believe it is her decision whether she wants to try again or
not, not some busybody that tries to run everyone else's life. Paula has three
that lived and are very healthy. She lost the last two. I know that it hurts. I
can't pretend to know her pain, but I have experienced some of it and am a
little raw. But just because something hurts doesn't mean that time and
different circumstances won't change our desires. We don't know the future and
sometimes the easy way out isn't the best way.

I had seven brothers and sisters, and for the most part, I'm glad that they are
my brothers and sisters. (just joking - I love all of them). I had a very happy
childhood and wish that more people could experience sibling relationships like
mine. Mom had two miscarriages between my youngest brother and youngest sister.
When she was carrying Rita, she was exposed to the measles and the doctors
wanted her to terminate the pregnancy. Rita is now 40 something, works with
mom, has 5 teenage sons and is mom's best friend. Mom would have missed so much
if she didn't have Rita.

The movie "Cheaper by the Dozen" was such a refreshing change in the way our
society looks at children. However, there are those who still think that
children are a curse and not a blessing.

I know it sounds like I would like to have her try again. I honestly don't
know. It's not my decison. I want what is best for her. She is my daughter. Her
children are exceptional and I love them dearly. She works for me now and
brings her 20 month daughter, Courtney to work every day.

Sorry for rambling. This is the only place I can really say how I feel. I hope
I don't offend anyone. It is a difficult time for us and I do appreciate your
prayers. Personally, I think prayers were answered when the doctor couldn't
perform the Tubal.

Oops, what I meant to say was a Tubal. Sorry
