Angie

You are serious!!! Whoa I'd be sooo honoured to be a support person for you
(but hey I'm only half trained!!!). BTW this business venture looks like it
was a big wally!!! big on promises and short on actual reward!!! Unless we
are willing to lose a lot of friends I guess we got sucked in at a
vulnerable moment!

Angie the most important thing for you to remember during this pregnancy is
to be positive, know that you can do it, that your body can do it, engender
support from your partner (oops sorry forgotten his name) and help him to
know just what you will need from him during the birth. Don't let anyone
try to pressure you into any interventions you don't want. Remember that
oxytocin and prostaglandins are the hormones that do the work (they occur
naturally within the body and don't need to be pumped or pushed into you)
and adrenalin is an oxytocin/prostaglandin hater and will stop your labour
dead. So if you are at all scared or uncomfortable with what is happening
labour will stop!! Make the environment where you are going to give birth
comfortable for you that includes food, smells, sounds and people.

Most of all tell your birth attendant what you want and what you don't want
before you go into labour.
