[tri-wings] Re: Angel parents please advise

Dearest Theresa,
I am so very sorry for your loss.
Things are going to be VERY strange and unknown for quite sometime. Give
yourself some breathing space it is such a very short time since Michael
gained his angel wings and yes everything stands still and becomes a blur
and you forget things, cry at the drop of a hat and push people away. Just
one piece of advice at this really excruciatingly difficult time, if your
husband is as lovely as you say, confide in him and draw closer try to
include him in your grief if you can. If you find you can't then maybe a
grief counsellor is the way to go. I didn't see one until 6 years after
Louise left us and I wished I had done it sooner it just gives you that
avenue to vent to someone not emotionally involved with Michael.
Don't put unreal expectations on yourself for what you SHOULD be doing,
thinking, feeling and achieving. Grief is a very long process and the first
year is the very hardest. You will never not be grieving but it does get
easier as time passes.
Having said that there are still days 18 years down the track when I have
that gut wrenching ache to hold my baby again and I miss her every minute of
the day.
We cannot 'know' how you are feeling but do know this we are here for you to
vent and talk about Michael ...I love talking about Louise and we will be
here to 'listen'.

Don't worry about the world coming to an end tomorrow it's already tomorrow
