[tri-wings] Re: A letter from above :*(

I felt so blessed to have had her and not one
person congratulated me on her birth!

Deanna,
The same thing happened to us. We had no idea of Julies trisomy until her
birth, so I was in shock those first few days. Whenever the mother in law
and SIL came to visit, all they could do was just look at me and cry. They
didnt once say congratulations. This really hurt my feelings because healthy
or not, we still had a baby and she was just beautiful. And to make matters
worse, they didnt buy her anything. That may sound petty, but when our first
daughter was born, they bought her tons of outfits. When my husband asked
them why, they said what if she died before she got to wear them! Its sad to
say, but my friends were much better to us than his family. My friends sent
congrats cards and brought her toys and clothes when they visited. For
Julies entire 19 months, I can count the times they visited her, and the
funny thing is, they were the ones that cried the loudest at her funeral...
I still tend to dwell on the way his family treated her, even though I know
I shouldnt, but I feel it was their loss that they never got to know a true
angel... Sheesh I think I'm starting to ramble...
Take care,
Linda - mom to Megan(6), ^i^Julie t13, Alyssa(20 months)
