It's been a worry of mine too.
We still have discussions after experiences where we see Alex act
inappropriately, or not in the best manner for social acceptance, and talk
with him about better ways he could have done whatever it was.

Alex is 'different even if his peers can't pinpoint why or how. Since Molly
is in high school as well this year she's heard things about Alex and how he
annoys some people with the way he acts (like going up to them every time he
sees them with an arm slug and 'hi ya ____') or hanging around them when
they're involved with others.

I guess that in many instances he's just tolerated.

He does have people who treat him better than that as well too.

But these past few weeks he's been so happy to be doing 'normal' end of high
school things. It's really been fun for me too, watching him work things
out. It's given him something to talk about with his peers too, something
that involves him in what's going on with them too.

Caitlin has been wonderful. She'd offered early on to make arrangements is
he wanted her to. He told her no, that he'd take care of it. I heard her
reply was 'Whatever you want to do sweetie, it's your prom'.
She was instrumental however in getting it to be a double date (but all are
going as friends!), she suggested it to Alex and let him decided if it was
what he wanted to do.
I'm glad about that as it will take some of the dinner chatting pressure off
with a foursome. And Alex has really liked the idea as well.

One things for sure, this memory will sustain him for a while! :0)
