[tri-med] Re: wheelchairs

Matilda loved the tumbleform when she was 6mth - 1yr old. I was always
sceptical as I didn't think it offered good posture, just a relaxed seat.
At the end of last year her DOCS OT (the hopeless one!) brought along a
tumbleform chair and I told her I wasn't interested in it - she said it
would be good for Matilda (they still see Matilda as a floppy baby and won't
acknowledge her ability! Typical departmental therapist!) SO she puts
Matilda in it, she laughs and proceeds to throw herself out of it - the OT
suggested it's because she can't sit up ! Hello, she can - she's playing a
great game here you goose!!!! OT puts Matilda back in, Matilda throws
herself out! Laughing, best game in the world! Matilda could wriggle her
arms out from the straps and throw herself sideways, leaving the lap belt
attached, so she'd be hanging over the side - not very safe. OT suggested I
perserve, I told her to take it or I'd throw it out in the rubbish! See why
I have a private therapists!!!

Catherine, wife to Richard and mum to Matilda 4 (T-18) and Tom 2
