[tri-med] Re: what to expect if we go full term

As many others mentioned, there is really no way to be sure what to expect.
No one, even the 'experts' can't tell you for sure. Even with all the
testing, they can still be very wrong.
My daughter Caroline has partial T17. She wasn't supposed to make to term
or survive the first year, but she is now 3 1/2. The experts had diagnosed
a hypoplastic left heart in utero. She had NUMEROUS echos prior to birth
and they all came to the same diagnosis, however, they were wrong.

She definitely has many issues, but she is still here and she is a DOLL!
She has done so much better than anyone predicted. If you want to read her
story, please check out her website.

I do think it is great you found this site during your pregnancy, I didn't
until Caroline was 6 mo. You will find the first year is hard and you are
faced with many issues, but they definitely slow down as the years
progress. I would highly recommend that you keep asking the list any and
all questions. Your doctors can give you SOME information, but it is
incredibly helpful to also get feedback from these parents who have
experienced it themselves.

Take care,
Irene
