[tri-med] Re: what to expect if we go full term

I didn't know about Cayden having Trisomy 18 until he was born.  The doctors 
told me he will die.  Now, please keep reading, I know that sounds horrible. 
  He did pass away at one month old because we decided to do a DNR at the 
doctors recommendation.  Now, I have found this website, and there are 
people here who will tell you that just because the baby is born with 
Trisomy 18 does not automatically tell you the baby will die.  They are 
right.  I wish I had this website when Cayden was born, because it would 
have given me hope.  No one can tell you exactly what is going to happen, 
which is not what you want to hear, I know.  Every child is unique, even if 
they do have the same disorder.  I wish I could tell you what to expect, but 
it's not possible, and no, not even the doctors can tell you what is going 
to happen.  They can tell you statistics, but that doesn't even tell you 
anything precisely, and personally, I think that if doctors were a lot more 
supportive, more Trisomy 18 babies would survive, but that is just a 
personal opinion.  I will never regret having Cayden, the only thing I 
regret is not having more time with him.  You can e-mail me anytime, off
