We took Sierra to the GI doctor yesterday and I asked him about our ped
taking her off of Reglan (Metoclopramine) and he said he was glad that
she did. It can have serious side effects on the CNS, one of which is a
disease that causes symptoms similar to Parkinson?s Disease. He said
that it is pretty rare, but since Sierra all ready has issues, he wanted
to make sure that we weren?t doing anything to complicate things more
for her. He is the first doctor that we have seen that has dealt with
T18 patients before (he comes in from out of town every 6 months because
we don?t have a local GI doctor). I am not trying to scare anyone, but
I wanted to share this information because I had NO clue about this when
Sierra was on it.
