[tri-med] trisomies and two vessel umbilical cord

Hi Everyone,
 I have a concern and would like to know if anyone has
any info. My daughter is  pregnant and they just had
an ultrasound. They found she has a two vessel
umbilical cord (missing one artery). They said they
couldn't see anything else on the ultrasound that
appears abnormal but that they will do more
ultrasounds as she progresses in the pregnancy. They
offered amnio and the one blood test they do (forgot
the name) for abnormalities but my daughter refused,
due to false positives and the risks for miscarriage
with amnio. I just read that the two vessel cord can
increase the risk for trisomies. She has one child
now, Julian, who is 2 and a half with mosaic partial
trisomy 1. So, any info, concerns or words of
encouragement would be appreciated. To think of her
having a second child with abnormalities is
heartbreaking.
