[tri-med] Re: [tri-med]Joanna's latest pneumonia

Jo's into day 6 of her latest pneunomia. She started with 102.2 last
Sunday, very low grads temps Monday, and by Tuesday was bak in PICU. Very
sick cookie this time - 24 hour bipap, which leaves her pretty cut off as she
can see without her glasses and hearing is minimal. Antibiotic helpled with
the
discomfort and temps running their course - 99's today. Huge fungal rash on
bottom, around gtube, neck, is getting slathered with Nystatin at every diaper
change. I'm getting home for a shower and hair wash every 2 days then back
on the principle that the worse Mommy looks, they will take pity and let her
home - the last place she needs tho until she is ready. Last pneunomia was
just
back in November - lungs getting weaker..., at 3am was telling nurse how I
missed her smile - she didn't realize Jo could smile! At least her docters
know that big grin!- and her own pulmonologist also works the PICU and is
ordering her care. On special request from the staff Ijust got 3 hours of
sleep in
my own bed, heaven!, was home for 6 hours this time, no others in PICU after
twins go home so she is getting undivided attention and I'm heading back soon.
My love to all - haven't looked at email in weeks it seems, but you
are all in my hearts and prayers. I'll save emails until I get back to them -
hospital has no computer hookups - at least in PICU.

Within half an hour in the ER a doctor was down with her medical
students checking out T-18 characteristics - LOL! Sorry, Jo doesn't have
rocker
bottom feet!

Love Chris, Boni and Jo T-18 31 years
