He is doing great. Turned 11 in January and is more healthy than the =
rest
of the family. He still has his Mic-Key for supplemental feeding and
medicines (he refuses to take meds). Otherwise, he is a acting like an =
11
year old - starting to notice girls (too often for Mom). He broke his =
wrist
falling out of bed 6 weeks ago. Had a cast for 4 weeks, then no swings =
or
playground equipment for 2 more weeks. That really hurts him because he =
got
a new playground/swing just before it happened.

We are still homeschooling him. Actually, Florida has a McKay =
scholarship
that allows disabled students to choose a private school instead of the
public school if we want. So, we picked a school that takes distance
learning students. David stays at home and the state pays for the
curriculum, equipment, etc. The school bought him a computer, the
playground equipment, therapy equipment, books, software, etc. It works =
out
great for us. We are in the process of becoming a school ourselves, so =
we
can help others that want to do the same thing. We'll only take =
distance
learning students, so the parents are in charge of the teaching. =20

He is doing 3rd grade reading, but the math is a real struggle. Just =
can't
seem to grasp the concept. We have tried several programs, but none =
have
"clicked" yet. One day he knows it and the next, it is gone. But, he =
is
at least doing better than in public school. =20
