HI Gina,
Sorry for the delay in answering.
Alex had tubes put in his ears but I am one of the few parents who are not a
fan of them. Alex had lots of fluid in his ears, but no overt ear
infections, so they put the tubes in hoping that it would help his hearing.
They didn't seem to make any difference to his hearing unfortunately but
they did result in him getting a lot of purulent ear infections with massive
amounts of discharge running dow his face. This had an adverse effect on his
hearing because he couldn't wear his hearing aids........ So finally I had
the ENT remove the tubes. It was easier and better for his speech
development to simply turn his hearing aids up than deal with the constant
infections.
Alex's ear infection the other week was the first overt ear infection that
he has had since........
