> can you help me with Taylor's i got the reading on his blood.thay only
took 30 cells to analyze total karyotyped are 2 haploid band resolution is
475 bands it was a 72 hour culture. reason for referral respiratory
distress results are mos47,xy,8+46,xy interpretation of 30
metaphases, 7 were triosmy 8 and the 23 were normal these results is
consistent with triosmy 8 mosaic syndromes. this family should receive
genetic consultation.. my question's are what are karyotyped? and shouldn't
thay are tested most cells like 50 or 100 or 500 cells . remember this is
after taylor was born this test was done.i asked him why not test more cells
and he said that there really isn't going to change is triosmy , which i
already know put wouldn't it tell me the percents of normal to what is
triosmy 8 . his was that Taylor's chromosome is very rare and that you do
not see it very much. it did tell me that 13 and 18 are more common then
trisomy 8 and that 13 and 18 do not live to see there first birthday. and i
told him yes thay do and he said that its' very rare for them to live if
thay are full triosmy's. so i did tell him that there is some full triosmy
13 and 18's living and he told me not many. and he told him that there isn't
any full triosmy 8's a live in the world.. . and he told him that taylor is
the first triosmy 8 that he has seen. that it very rare.so i did tell him
there is full triosmy's living. because there really this'nt much done on
trisomy 13 or 18 in the book about them living longer then 1 year. so
someone out there really needs to change the medical books on triosmy's. i
hope i didn't hurt any ones feels.thanks gina and taylor triosmy 8 mosaic
