Georgiann,
I was just thinking back to when I was about 8 and had a really bad case of
pneumonia. One of the antibiotics they gave me made me so sick that I had
violent throwing up and diarrhea simultaneously with it until I got it out
of my system. There are other antibiotics also that make my stomach hurt so
badly even now. I wonder if Lauren could be having a reaction of some kind
to one or more of the strong antibiotics with which they're treating her? As
for the fever, I had mine for many days. I know that I missed enough school
that they wondered if they should hold me back a year, and I had not been
sick prior to getting pneumonia as Lauren was. Maybe the distended stomach
could be part of her tummy reacting to how hard some of the antibiotics can
be on one's stomach?
