USA Alex has what we call "double jointed" or hypermobile thumbs and
shoulders. The positions he can put those things into makes me cringe--we've
never had a dislocation though (that I know of) and from personal experience
know that HURTS so think if Alex had dislocated something I'd have heard
about it. Unless............it went out and right back in???????

It seems as if when Alex were younger he had a higher tolerance of pain but
not the same as what we observe these days. Wonder if that's a learned
response or if it's part of how his development progressed past the
"typical" trier situation he was born into.
