starting in January. I am not sure that is the best for Donnalee. Donnalee
is very bossy, pushy and loves to play rough. Also Donnalee does not talk
( only thing she says is mama). Donnalee has many issues and problems that
Early intervention has not dealt with and now they want to push her into
preschool (and in to the school district). The program they want to put
Donnalee into is the same one Sarah is going through. They have not done
much with Sarah so I am not sure it will work for Donnalee.

in the learning area because she does not talk. Is this special ed preschool
going to teach sign language to the family or just ignore this fact and push
her up and out of the school just because she test high? I >have a hard
time not having say over what the girls get and an even harder time watching
them not make true progress.

I feel for you, fighting the system and not being happy with what's offered
stinks, is frustrating and exhausting trying to get things 'worked out'.

What are your other options for Donnalee? Nearby school district with
different programs?

Have you asked specifics about sign language/who will be taught? Talked with
the teachers involved about your questions and concerns?

Have you sat down with the special ed director and discussed the situation?
Or the school superintendent?

A helpful website is www.reedmartin.com It's about special ed advocacy and
has tons of stuff on related areas.

Those are the places to start with looking at the situation and how to
proceed.
