I am with the others on this - was it not done in the first place? or has it
simply come undone?

Fundo's do not have a long life normally - between 3 months to 4 years for a
good one.

When Alex's was done his was reinforced with a dacron patch to make sure it
didn't come undone - 7 years later, much to Alex's disgust it is still
firmly in place. (he is 8 years old and whats to belch grossly with the
other kids :-))

Most arent reinforced though because they want them to come undone as the
child grows and muscle tone improves. When this happens they no longer need
the fundo, and an intact fundo reduces stomach volume quite significantly
(which is one of the reasons that they start feeding them such small amounts
after the surgery)

If it wasn't done you certainly do have reason to be upset and of course to
seek recourse. But it would be a long hard road to prove it. Start with
getting a hold of the theatre and hospital notes then a second opinion. But
I do warn that the reality may be that it has just come undone.
