[tri-med] Re: trier growth

Yes I do think our babies are smaller because of the trisomies. My daughter has
partial trisomy 7p and 10q.
Birth: 5 lbs 9 oz. 18 1/2"
3 months: 8 lbs 7 oz 20"
6 months: 12 lbs 6 oz 23"
7 months (now) 13 lbs 6 oz 24"
I believe the recent weight gain has to do with her calorie intake, her
pediatrician turned it up to 27 calories on her formula and we started giving
her rice cereal. Thank god is working

Tiffiney,

As Michelle said, this is very common with rare trisomy babies. In fact,
here's a bit of a look at my partial trisomy 6p daughter's growth:

Birth: 6 lbs 10 oz; 19"
6mo: 9 lbs 7 oz; 23 1/2"
1 yr 11 lbs 8 oz; 26" (still wearing sz 3 mo clothing)

Philina was the only kid I'd ever known who actually wore out the toes in
those little corduroy booties and the knees of her sz 3mo pants. On the
bright side, when they DO live, we GET to keep our "babies" babies longer
(as frustrating as that is at times). Ah the memories!

2 yrs 16 lbs 6 oz; 2' 5 1/2"
5 yrs 31 lbs 8 oz; 3' 3 3/4"
10 yrs 63 lbs 10 oz; 4' 5"
15 yrs 112 lbs 0 0z; 5' 1/4"
20 yrs 104 lbs 8 oz; 5' 1 3/4"

She lost 8 lbs during a 3+ month hospital stay at 19 yrs!

24 yrs 111 lbs 0 oz; 5' 1 3/4"

She's still on the small side (brother is at least 6' 2" & sister 5' 8"),
but people usually just assume she's younger then she is, which isn't such
a bad thing with the developmental delays.
