My mom told me that my grandmother used to do this when her sinuses were acting 
up.  She said it worked.  I have used saline solution and squirted it up Nick's 
nose and then used a syringe to suck all the gunk out.  The ENT said the 
problem is these kids can't blow their nose and then the bacteria just sits 
there.  Nick only has problems when school starts back up and he catches bugs 
from other kids.
