Hello. I was hoping to get some thoughts on therapy. My son, Luke-2 yrs-attends
p/t weekly, speech weekly and o/t bi-weekly. His speech therapist recommended
stepping up speech and his others are hinting at it too. Luke goes to school
twice/week and a "parent and me" group through the school district. We do a lot
with Luke at home and sometimes I feel that we do the exact same thing they do
for him at therapy. I use the therapy time to ask questions and keep up with
what we should be reinforcing at home. I want to keep a balance and sometimes
wonder if I spend a lot of time at home, is it necessary to bring him to
Children's almost everyday??? I also feel strongly about doing typical
activities with Luke and having time for the zoo, the beach, etc, all of which
are stimulating and a learning experience.
I work part-time and juggling the schedule is tough. That is secondary, because
I will do whatever if it will help Luke, but I was hoping for some feedback. My
working part-time is necessary right now...pays for speech!
Thanks.
