Have a question for some of you with older kids -
Ryan has a few orthopedic issues going on right now. #1 being his scoliosis -
Right now the orthopedists is keeping an eye on it -- but it has progressed
to 65 degrees at the top of his "S" curve and 70 degrees at the bottom of the
S. i wanted to see if anyone else's child has had a similar curve and what
kind of things/treatments were done?
#2 his hip dysplasia - his orthopedist his very concerned about his hips.
they are still subluxed and the socket is not deepening. He (the orthopedist)
is considering surgery to place a metal plate at the top of each socket to
buy some time to keep the hips from dislocating. We have had several
discussions about the pros and cons and what kind of benefit this will gain
Ryan - what kind of pain it will prevent and if it is all worth it. Again -
I'm looking for any info on hips from all you experienced parents!
Thanks,
