A few years ago we were alluded by a dentist that Pamela has no bottom ridge.
What this means is that her gums are receeding as well and eventually her teeth
will fall out. They could fix this but it's quite the procedure, it would be
very sore and Pamela is always picking her gums as well, so I saw no point to
it.

Pamela is always biting her hands and fingers as well and picking her gums or
trying to gag herself. So we had some plastic braces made for her arms which
bend slightly in the elbow so she can still utilize her arms but she cannot get
her hands in her mouth. Our kids seem to need a lot of oral stimulation. The
braces do come off from time to time and we give her things she's allowed to
bite on. However, when she starts to use her hands as a biting block or picking
her gums the braces go back on. At night she like to suck her fingers,
however if she can't settle because of the biting the braces stay on and she
will wall asleep.
